My favourite type of fly fishing – delicately casting flies to rising fish and watching them feast on your own fly is a feeling like no other.
DRY FLIES DEFINED
Dry flies are probably exactly what you think they are. The annoying, in your eyes, in your ears, in your mouth type of flies that never seem to leave you alone.
They are designed to mimic the fly hatches in your area or bodies of water you fish. With the help of water repellent floatant, these will land softly on the surface of the water pretending to have fallen from the sky – and when the time is right; trout can’t resist them! Dry Fly Fishing often referred to as the epitome of fly fishing, all the reasons why “fly fishing” was started many, many, many years ago. I’ll say it again, “Match the Hatch”! Take some time to figure out what’s happening in and around the water before chucking your line – you won’t regret it.
